Slash Removal and Hauling in Spokane and Eastern Washington

You are here:

Slash is the branches, limbs, and brush left behind after clearing, limbing, or thinning. Left in a pile, it's a fire hazard in a different shape. We pile, chip, or haul off everything we cut so the property is left cleaner and safer than we found it.

We're firefighter-led, so we don't think the job's done when the cutting stops. Getting the material off the property is part of the work, not an afterthought.

What we do with the material

Depending on the job and your preference, we chip it on site, pile it for later handling, or haul it away entirely. Chipping cuts down on hauling and the chips can stay as ground cover away from the house, or go with us. For bigger projects we handle the volume so you're not staring at slash piles for months.

Four-step slash removal process — cut the brush and limbs, pile the material, chip it on site or haul it away, and leave a clean property.

Why it matters

A slash pile sitting near the house undoes some of the good the clearing did. It's dry, it's continuous, and it burns. Proper removal is what turns a cleared property into a safer one. It's also usually required for defensible space to actually count, including for cost-share programs that want the work done to spec.

Storm debris too

Slash removal isn't only for mitigation jobs. After a windstorm we clear and haul the downed limbs and blown-over trees as well, so the same crew and equipment that handle a thinning project handle the cleanup after a big blow.

Frequently asked questions

Do you chip on site or haul it away?

Either. We'll chip on site to cut down hauling, haul it all off, or a mix. Your call, and we'll recommend what makes sense for the job.

Yes, if you want them. Chips can be useful as ground cover, though keep them away from right against the house.

Yes. Downed limbs and blown-over trees after a storm get cleared and hauled the same way.
